Ideal for working both along and across the grain, this skewed panel raiser creates a 1/8" fillet, 13 degree 1 1/8" bevel, and a 1/4" flat.
This profile is designed for 3/4" stock or a 5/8" panel.
This 5/16" Roman Ovolo Plane is intended for the woodworker considering introducing wooden moulding planes into their work. This common profile is easy to use, easy to maintain, and easy to add to many varying projects.
This plane is also the subject of several blog posts. In those posts I have justified the configuration of the tool, covered the use of the tool, and posted videos relating to sharpening this specific tool.
NOTE: This plane does NOT come with the pictured Slip Stone.
This thumbnail/ovolo plane is a prime example of a highly desirable dedicated moulding plane. Four profiles will be added to each drawer while multiple drawer lips will terminate within an inch. A dedicated plane to execute these multiple profiles will add necessary uniformity. The skewed cutting edge will leave a finished surface upon conclusion.
Rabbets are a necessary aspect for using hollows and rounds. A traditional rabbet plane is the best method for executing these features by hand.
